PDO Thread lifting and its benefits

What are PDO?A PDO thread lift is a non-surgical facelift that uses polydioxanone (PDO) threads to lift and tighten the skin of the face. These threads are secured with needles and inserted into different skin layers to instantly lift and tighten loose skin. Use anywhere from 1-15 threads per section.

PDO Thread wrinkle removal is the latest non-invasive micro-plastic surgery popular in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. It was first invented in South Korea. It mainly uses a new generation of high-tech wire, which can absorb collagen thread PDO, and implant it into specific parts of the skin to achieve facial lifting and firming.

As a first-generation thread, PDO is often regarded as the basic standard thread, but it is the thread with the highest reliability and longest safety record in clinical findings. Technology has evolved rapidly, and Thread has now grown to offer three main types of thread: PDO, PLLA, and PCL. All three types are 100% absorbable and biocompatible, but it's important to be aware of the key differences when choosing the thread that's right for your unique individual

PDO Thread is pure chemical, not purified from animals. No allergens, much safer. So PDO Threads are most commonly used in cosmetic practices, they last for 6-12 months, during which time they are fully absorbed in 6-8 months and stimulate collagen production in the next 4-6 months.

PDO threads cause changes at the subcutaneous level (dermis), trigger an inflammatory response, and stimulate new collagen production. And it can effectively improve pores and fine lines, increase the thickness of thinned skin by forming collagen in the dermal matrix, and can be used for acne scars and loose skin on the body. The Body PDO thread is used to tighten loose skin on the abdomen, buttocks, back, inner thighs and upper arms, treat cellulite and stretch marks. It has been shown to improve lymphatic drainage, lipolysis and elastin production.

And PCL is also chemical. PCL threads or thread combination materials (including PCL) they exist in the body for more than 2 years and break down into natural substances in our skin. They are stronger threads than PDO or PLLA threads due to the collagen stimulated length. Best for jawline tightening, nose lifting and mid-face tissue replacement.

PLLA Thread has a skin rejuvenating effect, so it is also called a youthful face thread. PLLA threads can last up to 1-2 years after insertion and eventually break down into glucose, carbon dioxide and water. PLLA threads are often used as a substitute for fillers and Botox because they act as a bulking agent and are able to stimulate type 1 and type 3 collagen production. They are more powerful collagen stimulators than PDO threads. And it is softer and easier to handle than PDO and PCL.

In addition to the different materials, they also have different shapes and functions

In addition to the different materials, they also have different shapes and functions.

1 Mono Threads

Mono threads are smooth threads without barbs. Many of these thread type are placed into the face in a mesh-like fashion for skin tightening effect. Skin tightening usually improves after collagen starts forming around the threads. The treatment areas are often neck lines, neck sagginess, forehead and under eyes. Between 10 -20 mono threads are usually inserted for each treatment area. In order to sustain a lift, the threads are attached to an “anchoring point” of the scalp or face. Mono threads tighten the skin but without significant lifting; therefore they have to be used with cog threads for an overall improvement in face tightening and rejuvenation.

2 Screw Threads /Tornado Threads

Screw threads can come in the form of one or two threads intertwined together around the inserting needle. Screw thread has a great effect on giving volume effect on sunken area of the skin. “Multi Screw” – when intertwining two threads are used – has stronger effect over screw thread. Screw threads are usually used for general face-lifting. A tip our trainer from the Hands-On Korean Thread Lift Workshop, you can “create” your screw threads by inserting a mono thread in a twisting fashion.

3Cog Threads

Cog threads are essentially mono threads with barbs to hook to the underside of the skin. The barbs form a support structure that lifts the sagging tissue. Unlike mono threads, cog threads do not need anchoring points. Collagen formation can also occur around the threads and their barbs. Cog threads are most effective for jawline lifting and slimming.
