What is The Recovery Time From A Thread Lift?

The recovery time for facial thread lifting is generally about five days, and the recovery time for swelling is generally about fifteen days. Excessive threading can cause more capillary damage and delay recovery from hematoma and edema.

What is PDO Thread Lift?

A thread lift is a cosmetic procedure that offers a minimally invasive alternative to cosmetic surgery.

Thread lift claims to tighten your skin by inserting a medical-grade wire into your face and then "pulling" your skin through the tensioning wire.

Also called a barbed suture lift, it is designed to lift and shape your face or breasts. Thread lifts use temporary medical-grade sutures to "stitch" your skin so that it is taut.

We can easily understand it through a video.

After surgery, there will be tightness, slight swelling, redness, and possible bruising and inflammation. You have a foreign body passing through your tissue to tighten it, so these sensations are normal. The feeling and swelling will dissipate over the next week as the tissue heals and adjusts to the new addition.

You will see an immediate effect of a body lift, but there is more to come as collagen takes 2-3 months to fully build. You can fully recover from thread lifts in no more than two weeks.

Precautions after thread lift

1. If you have minor bruising or swelling, ice the treated area for a few minutes during the day four to five times during the first week.

2. Limit facial movements for one day. Make sure to take a full day of rest after your treatment.

3. You can move around as much as you want, but don't do any strenuous activity or lift weights for three weeks.

4. You can take pain medication as needed after surgery. Try to consume them after meals to avoid any risk of nausea.

5. It is best to avoid aspirin for two weeks after treatment.

6. Avoid using makeup or creams for at least 48 hours.

7. You should not drink through a straw and should focus on drinking liquids or eating soft foods for at least a week.

8. Chewing gum should be avoided for at least two weeks.

9. It is normal to have mild discomfort in the first two days after surgery, and it will gradually decrease.

10. Try to keep your head up for a week.

11. Do not pull, massage, scrub or exfoliate the facial skin for at least three weeks. You also shouldn't wash or touch your face for at least 12 hours.

12. Follow your doctor's guidelines for the care of your incision wound.

It is recommended that you sleep on your back to prevent swelling. Avoid straining or putting pressure on the face, as this may cause the threads to misalign.

13. Avoid any dental treatment for at least two weeks after PDO thread embedding.

14. If unusual pain or swelling occurs, be sure to consult your doctor for immediate and appropriate treatment.
